Early morning, after breakfast, drive to Agra, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, the best-preserved Mughal palace city. Built by Emperor Akbar around 1570, it showcased the finest craftsmanship but was abandoned just fourteen years later, reportedly due to water shortages.
