Day 01: Arrive Cochin

Arrive by international flight you will get a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) from our representative. They would assist you at the airport & transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Cochin always had a very popular & historical sea trade connection. This connection with the Middle East and Mediterranean Europe, Dutch and British. On the Arabian coastline, it has one of the finest natural harbors. The amazing view of this that its cosmopolitan character is reflected in the buildings and structures representing different regions of the world. Here we can see a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, architecture, mosques, temples & Chinese fishing nets. This city is the only one in the world where we can see all these things at the same time. This city is also called the city of peninsulas & islands. Today it is Kerala's commercial hub. Day 02: Cochin – Munnar (150 km/ 4 hrs)

In the morning, we leave for a half-day city tour of Cochin. We will visit several places like St. Francis' Church, Dutch Palace (Built by the Portuguese), Jew Town, the Jewish Synagogue (built in the year 1568), and the spice market. A spice market is a place where the air is filled with the pungent smell of spices and Chinese fishing nets. Later, the afternoon we drive to Munnar. The distance of approximately 150 km is covered in around 4 hours. During this 4 hours journey, you will be enjoying the scenic beauty with marvelous waterfalls, high mountains, and low flying clouds passing through. Upon arrival check-in hotel for overnight stay. Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in western India. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams (Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala). Munnar is located at 1600 Mts. above sea level. Erstwhile this was the summer resort of the British Government in South India. Munnar a unique experience by its sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking, and holiday facilities. Munnar is essentially a tea town. Overnight Hotel-Munnar (B)

Day 03: Munnar

Later we visit Eravikulam National Park. This is the set up for the preservation of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Park has the largest known population of Tahr existing in the world. This gives also shelters to Atlas Moth, Elephants, Sambhars, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque, Nilgiri, Langur, Tiger & Leopard. It exhibits the all breathtaking natural splendor of rolling grasslands & exotic flowers. (Closed - January & February). Overnight Hotel-Munnar (B)

Day 04: Drive Munnar - Periyar (160 km. - Approx 4 hrs.)

Today we proceed for the Periyar Wildlife Reserve tour. This is set on an attractive lakeside. It is South India's most popular Wildlife Sanctuary. Periyar is a place to cruise on the lake & gives an opportunity to see wildlife. Rather than it is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, bison, antelopes, sambhar, wild boar, monkeys, a wide variety of birds. Optional: Boat Ride Periyar Lake Overnight Hotel – Periyar (B)

Day 05 : Drive Periyar - Kumarakom (145 kms. - Approx 3.5 hrs.)

Morning, we will take you for an Elephant safari in Periyar, followed by Spice Plantation tour & Boat ride on western "Periyar Lake. Later driven to Kottayam and upon arrival, check-in the hotel. Kumarakom, the famous backwater tourist destination in Kerala which is located in the district of Kottayam. This place can be reached from Alappuzha. Kumarakom is undoubtedly the most invigorating, fascinating paradise in Kerala. The beauty of this place feels like God's own country. This rich green, the sleepy little western village of Kumarkom is located on the Vembanad lake amidst mangrove forests and coconut groves. Kumarakom is an enchanting picnic spot and provides boating, fishing, sightseeing experiences. These experiences are truly exhilarating. The slender coconut palms standing everywhere in this area. It includes paddy fields, meandering lagoons, and backwaters. The mangroves nesting birds of a hundred varieties that can peacefully calm and invigorate your mind. You will visit across plenty of traditional country crafts or houseboats, boats, and canoes on the scenic Vembanad lake. The labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals, and waterways is made by the flowing water of the lake. The backwater houses have a variety of species of both fauna and flora and marine life. Day 06: Kumarakom – Alleppey by Houseboat

After breakfast check-out, we will visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. There are two seasons for birds. Between October & February, there are cormorants, teals, & other ducks. From February to July there are darters (snake birds), night herons, egrets, & Siberian storks. It also has a golden-backed woodpecker, crow pheasant, white-breasted water hen, tree pie, etc. Later we board the houseboat and visit Kettuvallam. The cruise is for the beautiful backwaters of Kumarakom to Alleppey to observe & experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters. The lake is the best picnic spot, where you can relax your mind and body. Trees and shrubs act as a respite to the eyes when the water gives the place a cooling effect. This lake is an excellent family-picnic destination too. Here seniors can laze around the lake reading a book or talking and youngsters can enjoy fishing and boating. Later we will proceed to Alleppy through backwaters to observe the things and we will experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters. Overnight - Houseboat. (B, L, D)

Day 07: Arrive Alleppy - Kovalam (185 km. -Approx 4 hrs.)

Today morning, we disembark the houseboat at Alleppy & we will drive to Kovalam. En-route we visit many places like Trivandrum, the Padmanabha Swami Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This is held sacred by the Hindus from antiquity. This temple has a large complex with a huge Gopuram. It has a tank beside it for ritual bathing people. Next, we visit Napier Museum. This 19th-century structure displays a rare collection of archaeological artifacts like bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot, and ivory carvings. This Indo-Saracenic structure boasts of a natural air-conditioning system that bears testimony to the technological progress of that period. Sri Chitra Art Gallery is an excellent collection of Indian art. This is filled with examples from early to modern schools. Several types of paintings like by Raja Ravi Varma & works from Mughal & Rajput miniature paintings & Tanjore paintings embellished with semi-precious stones are displayed. Also, we visit the beautiful Horse Palace. Resume your drive, reach Kovalam which is located in the most southern part of India and famous for its beaches. There are two main beaches at Kovalam and separated by a high cliff.
